We have applied for a Community Garden Grant from the Jackson
County Master Gardener Association to expand and improve our
Angel Garden. We have asked for enough money to construct
5 Natural Yard raised beds, measuring 3'x12'x11", fill
them with organic soil from Green Planet Naturals and fit
them with a new drip irrigation system.
We will also be creating an Outdoor Education Center, in
the front yard. This will be an area landscaped with herbs
and set with 2 picnic tables, where we can instruct local
school children and our Girl Scout Troup on the benefits of
growing and consuming organic food.
With this phase of our Angel Garden project, we should be
able to grow more organic produce and better accomplish our
goal of educating the community. Last year's garden was prolific,
and this year's will be even more so.
